Steve Johnson: I had to try different versions of the apk software to make it work. After 2 versions of the Google framework and 3 versions of the other software I finally got it to work.
Arobsite: If you have the first gen kindle fire, then you cannot get newer apps. This is because it is based off Android 2.2 Gingerbread, and you cannot get newer apps on an old device. If you have the HD, then you can install the newest Google Apps, because it is based off the current android version, 4.2.2 Jellybean.
