Daniel Powers: Couple questions, I have seen different videos, some call it an Actuator
and others a blend door. Are the terms interchangeable? Some seem to be
an actuator behind the glove box, while others are in the center near the
gas pedal are these the same, just in different places on different
models? BTW, I have the same issue, no heat, I don't have a clicking
sound. (also having trouble getting the last screw out).
Ampelio Carr: If my actuator doesn't move when testing it what can I check other wise
Blake Rowlison: The video was very helpful as far as it went but mine is stuck in the cold
air position and I can't get any hot air. It was much harder to get off
than what it shows and when I went to put the new one on it wouldn't fit.
The video showed a good one coming off and then going back on but mine is
in a different position than the new one and the new one won't pop down
into place. Any ideas on getting it turned so the new part will line up and
I can get it hooked up. I don't want to force anything so that I break the
new part!! Thanks!!
Blake Rowlison: Thanks for the tip. I did hook it up and it finally put out heat - before
it was just cold air. I tried to put it down in but didn't try to turn it -
I'll try that - thanks again!!
vqfive: Seem you only get one try to put that small screw towards the back back on.
You drop it down back there and you won't get it out. Better have some
extra screws ready LOL
Christian Clark: hey 1A i have a 1997 explorer with the 5.0. i replaced a fuse about 2
months ago and my heat worked fine. now my heat has gone out again and the
fuses are fine. my air stays outside cool no matter what temp setting i
turn it to and like ive said ive checked the fuses and relays and checked
all vacuum lines and checked the temp door and heater core.i have checked
all the lines going to the selector. ive even replaced the whole selector
in the dash. this is my moms account. i am a fairly well off mechanic and
cant think of what else to check. can you think of what im forgetting. my
best guess is that there is a resistor in some component or relay that only
wants to fail from the heat of being energized?????
albert Hovakimyan: Hi. My AC goes off and starts blowing hot air when I go over bumps. And
sometimes it doesn't even go on it only blows hot. I have to turn on and
off for many times until it starts the cold air.And then I can hear a click
noise and turns to hot again.
Any Idea what the problem can be?
Brandon Padilla: I replaced the actuator on my Explorer but I can't get it to blow cold air,
do you have any suggestions?
David Chavez: Thanks a lot for the video! Very helpful
Ray Meadows: Hi my 2001 pontiac grand am blows hot air out one side and cold out the
other no matter what temp i adjust it to. Each side works really good like
its really hot and really cold. I was thinking the vaccum lines or actuator
might be the problem.
Sierra Ward: Im not getting any heat unless im accelerating could this be my problem
blows cool air while idling
Beau Rhodes: Mr Green, Do you have a video for the 1998 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0 V8 4 door
2WD to remove the Center Console to gain access through the access panel to
replace the oxygen sensors below the access panel? My thanks in advance.
malkooth: Excellent video thank you 1A.
Kendall House: My A/C works just fine, but my heat just blows cool air, could this be my
problem? 2002 Ford Expedition?
andyg2084: @1aauto hey there, thanks for the reply, its exactly like the one you are
doing the demo. on, its the manual temp and direction control, any ideas?
thank you so much
teaglet1: is this why "sometimes" the air doesn't come through the front panel?
sometimes I say, as i am driving, it starts flowing, replace the actuator?
tucole11: i have a 2006 explorer and when i turn the dial to heat it just makes a
clicking sound. Do you know what that is? Thanks
scobra97con: i have a 98 ranger that blows hot air, when a/c is on and on flat surface
or going downhill, its cold. when i go up hill, it gets hot and fan stops
running.if i start off quick, it gets hot.sometimes i can hear the blend
door shut.the acuator seems to be working. im thinking it could be a
vaccumm problem cuz the time this happened, i lost my 4wheel drive. any
1A Auto Parts: The 97 may be a different procedure. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
1A Auto Parts: @Bstang1 It sounds like you have dual zone automatic temp control. That is
probably a different issue. there may be a solenoid like this that is bad
somewhere or your sensor on that side could be bad.
1A Auto Parts: @mrexecutive1 Thanks, nice to see a repeat viewer. Mike
1A Auto Parts: We'll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this
repair in the future. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
1A Auto Parts: It could be the issue, you may also want to check for a possible loose
connection to the blower motor, it might be loosing power. Hope this helps
you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Boyd W: I just replaced the motor on my 09 Ranger. I put the shaft of the motor
down a little into the hole and plugged in the connector before screwing
the motor down. I turned the temp selector and it slowly moved in its
range. The motor has more travel than the door. Motor from Napa. The motor
closes the door hot at about 2pm angle. Somethings wrong with either the
design or motor. I hope there is not a pen inside of the system blocking
things. I ran into that with my 94 F250 2 years ago.
1A Auto Parts: @westrnboy You could try to flush the cooling system. They sell a liquid
flush at the auto parts store. Walmart usually carries it too, you can also
flush the system out with a hose if it's warm outside. This will help to
remove particles that could be clogging up the heater core. You may want to
chance the thermostat while you're at it. If this doesn't work it could be
a faulty blend door. Hope this helps you out.
1A Auto Parts: We currently do no have an auto repair video that covers this particular
repair. The process to remove it may be different.
cho2442: I have a 2001 ford explorer sport. I dont know if its the blend door or
what it is. My air blowes out but just at the defrost spot. It blows hot
and cold so I dont know what it is. Can you help please
Jefkoz: Thanks for the video, helped me troubleshoot
mesa863: Thank You for your help, I just changed a blend door actuator on 2007 ford
ranger, took old one apart and the small gear was chewed up, teeth ground
off and that was causing clicking noise.
Juan Lopezgomez: I have a 1995 Mazda B4000 and when I turn on the AC you sends heat into the
vents after a while the AC will turn on. What is the problems and what
parts do I need to buy?
Kristen Martinez: I have a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. When i have the AC ON. It only blows
HOT air. Is this caused by the actuator mentioned in this video ? Thanks
for your time.
NelsonToB: my heat not blowing hot air but it's blowing cool air but when I'm driving
it will heat up a little, what could b wrong
Buick Mackane: How much would that part cost? I have seen them running about $89.00 ?
1A Auto Parts: It may be coming from there. We currently do not have a how to video that
shows this repair. A Haynes or a Chiltons manual may show you how to
perform this particular repair.
1A Auto Parts: It could be a similar process, we currently do not have an auto repair
video on that particular application.
1A Auto Parts: You may want to have the system tested for leaks. It's possible that the
antifreeze that you put into the system may have leaked out.
Neobaggio: I have a 00 explorer and the air is blowing only from the windshield vents,
the cold-hot temperature feature is working fine but when I turn to a
different position, front panel, feet or both front and feet, nothing
happens. Actuator? Thanks
ssl668: @1aauto thanks for responce. I found problem and it is at actuator spleen/
shaft from inside heater box. It semms to have broke off completly from
door mechanism. Today i pryed up flap through actuator hole mount and i do
have heat now. Suprisingly, Dodge corporation wont cover this in any
"Faulty" engineering and/or defects. When it clearly should have not have
any failure with only 4 years of use ,so far.. When dodge vehicles work
,they are good, but when they break ,dont turn to them help.
1A Auto Parts: It may be a similar process. We currently do not have an door actuator auto
repair video for that particular repair.
1A Auto Parts: @slliks67 At the current time we do not have a repair video that shows this
juanchomex1: is this the same process for a 1998 ford expedition xlt 4.6v8
YouBigChooch: Hey There, my ac was only working on HIGH for a while - if the switch was
rolled all the way up, then it would switch on. if i lowered it, it would
turn off completely. Now, it wont even switch on in the high position. any
thoughts on what it could be?
bigd3285: I have a 1999 ford expedition. I was just told it need a new blend door
actuator. Is it the same steps for my truck?
1A Auto Parts: @ssl668 We currently do not have a video of this repair on your
application. The basics on the Explorer video may be similar to your
vehicle, but the removal process and location more than likely will be
Taylor Coleman: I have a 1995 bonnevile. Will this be hard for me to do on my car, cause I
have to replace my air temperture door acuator as well.
Dan Camargo: @westrnboy I have the same problem with my Lincoln Aviator 2004. If you
figure out why its doing this let me know.
1A Auto Parts: You may want to see if there's a loose or broken vacuum line which might be
causing this to happen. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Jonny Hoppman: Please answer! THis is bizarre. I tested my blend door actuator and it
works perfectly. Hot outdoors temerature air coming through all vents. I
jam my hand over the hole where the A/C knob arm controls the opening and
closing and I feel ice cold air. The A/C is working that means but it blows
hot? WTC? Please help if you can! THanks...
1A Auto Parts: @BOOANDLUCKY1 thank you for checking out our auto repair videos. Have a
1A Auto Parts: @Mailenmaloo It could be that or a possible loose connection somewhere.
