Green Power Farm: @My1968Impala I don't think there will be a next time with the barrel
stove. my old wood heater put out way more heat. I wish I did burn it
first. It stinks every time I burn something. so I never use it.
BooKittyRadley: Is it airtight? I would love to get one of the double barrel kits for my
home, but if it is not airtight (won't leak smoke into the house), and
cannot easily be made airtight with a stove gasket kit, I will have to buy
a regular stove. Please, please tell me that this is airtight? Please?
bman12tgb: Thinkin about doin' a double-barrel myself. Good video & great idea on the
self-tapper screws... Have been to Jamaica (8 times) so was also happy to
see you hanging their colors proudly... Is that wood smoke I smell,
or...?... YA MON!
Green Power Farm: @hawkdlb06 They burn off a little more each day.
jihadacadien: Didn't know that kit even exsisted..pretty cool. Can't have one here and
keep my insurance but still cool.
Green Power Farm: @arkansastrash320 I do the same...its great to just relax to!
Jeremy Penney: What does the top barrel do? I've been thinking that maybe it rholds some
more of the exaust heat?
flaimdancer: I will have to agree with you on the 2 year longevity of the the barrels. I
am boing to make my version of a double barrel stove, had a customer ask me
to build one. Any body ever hear of lava rocks in wood stoves? McGuire
Green Power Farm: I had some regular red bricks...better than nothing i think. I had a fire
in the thing (and ran in the house) one day and burned the paint off. Still
has paint on the bottoms... oh well! LOL.
Green Power Farm: Not even in a building? The kits at tractor supply way cheap.
sgtrogerp3: did i hear guinea hens in the background?
rockylee0: Rick, Stove pipe that goes through roof too close to wood...a fire hazard
waiting to happen. Single wall pipe needs 18 inches form combustible
Green Power Farm: @arkansastrash320 haha...I am a total firebug! during the winter I always
make giant fires in the woodstove.
Green Power Farm: cool man ! I will check out your videos!!
Green Power Farm: @bman12tgb Thanks! Thats awesome! I have been to Jamaica 3 times...best
place on earth!
Green Power Farm: They say it makes 40% more heat...I hope so i am going to need it.
Green Power Farm: I go to use it and burn my hand then it explodes.....Haha my luck.
Green Power Farm: @My1968Impala That is a good idea. I will. It kinda cold here since we got
5" of snow today!
charlie brown: aspedas is illegal causes cancer
destro513: @london1817 can you elaborate on why it doesn't heat well please. Every
other homework I see on these says they're are a beast and heat huge shops
to tee shirt temp. I've got a buck and am about to put a double barrel
stove in there and am just wondering. thanks.
Green Power Farm: @sugerbear520 Thanks!
Green Power Farm: You have a keen ear. I guess I hear them so much i don't notice it.....Wait
no thats a lie. They just make noise all the time!!
john27pa: I had one of these kits- worked great! Incase you havent already done so-
you need to put some fire brick on the bottom so the barrel doesnt get red
hot from the wood and ash embers. I used an old refridgerator shelf, as
long as the wood is off the bottom. The bottom barrel- I used one that the
whole "lid" was clamped on- unclamp and remove for easy cleaning- you will
need the trusty shop-vac. Also shouldve stripped the paint off the barrels-
nice fumes when gets hot lol. Enjoy-I did mine.
Green Power Farm: Thats is awesome! I love mine the other day it was 100 degrees in the shop!
Best heater ever!
ironhead41: nice...you should move the fire extingusher futher away tho.....nice kit...
angryadrien: 0:59 meow! I see kitty!
angryadrien: @london1817 watch my one and only video.... you'll see why :) :)
destro513: Why is it touching the wall? It seems it should be not up in that corner so
Tarzan!: hahaha. yeah, they tend to do that. but they're awesome birds! eatin bugs
and just fun to watch when they chase eachother around. lol
Green Power Farm: @Bobster986 farm & garden places.
chuckweb66: Great video. Just one question, whats to keep the bottom from burning out
if it gets too hot?
Green Power Farm: @rockylee0 I put hardy back around the wood and some 14guage metal....I
think it should be safe...thanks for the comment!
Green Power Farm: @sgtrogerp3 Haha! You sure did! you havea keen ear my freind!
freedomsailer: i have the double barrel stove kit also, 5 years an still going strong ..
no problems at all ... also i used barrels which has lids with rings to
hold them on.. makes assy. alot easier ....... enjoy
godsend420: hope it works 4 u 5*
N.E.Arkansas Trash Trucks&Lottery: I love stuff like that rick.i was raisedup around my dads old shop and he
allways had some kinda woodstove. When i was a kid i was allmost a firebug
LOL.if a fire was lit in the stove you bet i was there.Paul
Green Power Farm: @BooKittyRadley Mine is air tight..I have known people that have had them
in their house and it heated a huge 2 story old farm house and worked
perfect & I never smelled smoke....you shold certainly consider it for your
house...I love mine.
Green Power Farm: I put a layer of bricks..some people used 2 inches of sand.
Green Power Farm: Yeah I tried that but mine just didn't heat good so I never use it....I
would rather have just a plain wood stove.
N.E.Arkansas Trash Trucks&Lottery: @london1817 Hey i can sit and watch our woodstove burn for hours LOL.Its
cozy and fun to watch it.Thanks paul
Green Power Farm: @envirosponsible you could set something on top....but if you opened it
smoke would come out.
Green Power Farm: I bet the lava rocks would work great but but hard to clean out all the
ashes...needs a wood stove shelf in it.
Scott faith: does the second barrel act a s a heat exchanger?
Gylan Underhill: I heard the best way to make the barrels last longer is to lay fire bricks
in the barrel to line it so the heat don't damage the metal of the barrel
Green Power Farm: @freedomsailer How big an area do you heat with yours? mine doesn't do so
good...I might set it up different or just move it farther from the door to
Green Power Farm: I don't know....Its only a wood stove! Well maybe it won't catch ...Hahaha.
fireworkstube: Well, it's basically a big radiator. You could probably add a few more
barrels and get even more heat. There is a particular kind of stone
fireplace that is designed to heat a large mass of stone that is part of
the chimney/mantle and after the fire is out it radiates the heat into the
building the rest of the day. If you built up some kind of 'heat sink'
around the barrels or even close enough for it to be heated you could get a
bit more time out of the firewood you use.
Bobster986: Great Video, But Where Do You Get The Barrels?
Green Power Farm: @destro513 oh it doesnt matter...its an all block building and I never use
it....my little woodstove I had in there heated the whole thing ...this
