Classic Gamers HQ: What can be done if the tab is broken? The motor twists and stays put, but now no tab to secure it.

humourcar: Great video. Thanks! Just replaced my blower motor and cabin air filters while I was in there. Nice to know what tools I need before I start instead of making trips back and forth to the tool box...especially when I'm working in my driveway in the middle of winter. Do you guys ship to Canada?

Phill Hansen: I have a 2001 1500 extended cab and it looks slightly different from this under the kick panel. Is mine still a twist out motor mount?

gavin morrison: I have a 2000 Tahoe, and I went to start it up to warm it up and the heater fan wouldn't blow and then smoke started blowing up thru where the defroster comes out and it smelled like wires burning, so do you think the heater blower wires burnt up or what else could it be?

Mark Olsen: I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500, the heater works on all speeds except Hi. I've replaced the resistor twice. What do you think the problem is.

daltonaydell8: What is the part number for the cover that covers everything? That black plastic piece that you had to take off to get to the motor.

bruce streeter: I have a 1999 Short box, Standard cab and until now, 15 years later, the blower speeds have gone 1 at a time over the last month. Now, with this sub-zero weather, all I have left is #4. Vas gibst? What should, or what can I do??

1A Auto Parts: @jad467 Usually they are located on the passenger side under the dash. We carry them on our website. Here's a link to them. 1aauto.com/1A/BlowerMotor/Chevy/Avalanche/-/-/2004?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony

jarrit2375: Thank you so much for this video it helped me alot!

bholzwarth: Mike, I just wanted to say thanks for the great video! You made blower motor removal a breeze man. Keep up the great work!

Chris Abram: I have air blowing but it doesn't blow as powerful as it used to. The AC no longer recycles the inside air which is when it used to blow much harder. I'm assuming that the replacement you show in this video would fix my problem? All air is exterior air, so in the Texas heat I have a little cold air that hardly blows thru the vents and so I end up sucking in all the fumes from every other vehicle around me on the road.

Justin Runi: How come mine cant be in that easy of a spot >.> no mines gotta have one bolt in an unreachable place >.<

1A Auto Parts: @bjbenbj It could be the blower motor resistor, or possibly the switch.

1A Auto Parts: You're welcome. Have a great day!

Clay Mauldin: How do you remove the motor blower from a '98 Chevy Tahoe? It looks like it's a little more difficult than the '99+ year models....

1A Auto Parts: @bjbenbj We haven't done a video on a 98 Tahoe blower motor, but the procedure may be very close.

1A Auto Parts: @SuperNutellaontoast We carry new ones with free shipping on our website 1aauto.com All you need to do is enter in your vehicle information, and the correct ones will come up for you. Hope this helps you out.

kelboswell: This does not relate to the '99 Tahoe. My '99 is the older body style.

Wesley Vaughn: Great vidieo... thanks!

1A Auto Parts: I would check the simple things first such as the fuse, and also check the lead to the blower motor to see if there's power going to it. If there is, then the blower motor may likely be bad. Hope this helps you out.

Ben762x51: Good video. I have a 2001 blazer, and the fan selector (as in selecting face, feet, etc) won't switch. It is stuck on the face setting. the heat, and fan works fine, but I can't choose any other setting. Any idea on what this could be/how to fix? Would it be the same problem as you are showing here? Thanks

michael davis: I have a 94 GMC sierra. And everytime i start my truck, it makes this loud screeching/knocking noise under the glove department. and doesn't stop until after i kill the truck. The air is cold. The fan blows. But the noise... Any ideas?

Teejay Foley: I guess I should have added in that it worked on 1-2-3-4 but not on 5 for a couple of months then when I started it one morning none of the settings would work. Im going to check the fuses tomorrow when I get home from work hopefully its as easy as a 5 dollar fuse thanks.

Marcus Williams: This is awesome work guys, you saved me 160 bucks. I purchased the blower motor myself instead of buying at the dealer, that alone saved me 100 bucks. I followed the video step by step and saved another 60 buck in labor. So thank you so much guys.

hdsz066: I could not turn my fan on above two clicks or it made a lot of noise. After finding the smallest of several small ratchet heads, I got the back screw off! 1/4" on the head size of the ratchet makes a difference. Found a dead mouse in the blower wheel. Wondered what that smell was! It is nice and quiet now. Thanks for the video!

1A Auto Parts: It could be that the blower motor is getting tired. You could also remove the blower motor to see if there's any debris caught in the blower motor cage that might also be causing this issue. Hope this helps you out. We carry new blower motors on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Keenan Kelly: I have a 2001 gmc seirra 1500 and its making that loud humming noise underneath the glove box when i crank the AC up to 3, 4, and 5. By replacing the blower motor it will more than likely solve this problem?

Jesus Delgado: where can I find my blower motor on my '04 Avalanche? Can it be easy to install a new blower motor because I would hate going to a service station and have it replace and pay for much? Would be nice if I get a reply from you. Thanks. :)

Fidel Pelayo: Thanks for this video. Directions on filter box doesn't mention inner filter cover.

1A Auto Parts: @9632147miguel If it blows air it is not your blower motor. Sounds like your problem could be your air door actuator. As of right now I don't have a video for that.

SuperNutellaontoast: were changing this on my 99 silverado and what size or what would i ask for when buying a new blower be getting it a a junk yard so please answer

Trent Meunier: I have a 2005 Silverado. My AC stopped this past weekend. 2 years ago I lost function from setting 1,2,3 and 4 on the fan speed. 5 has been working fine but that stopped this weekend. It came back on a few times but shortly. Cold air is seeping out but no pressure. I called the Chevy dealership, they want $150 per hour for 3 hours to dianose this. I have read multiple reports of Chevys having this issue. Some say the wires are fried. Any thoughts? Its so hot out!!!! Thanks!

OUTFITRIDERS: Is it about the same for a 92 Chevy truck also?

1A Auto Parts: You may want to check the fuses and the wire going to the fan motor to see if there's power going to it.

Matt Harris: I'm about to change my heater blower motor on my 2000 silverado tomorrow, but im concerned that it may not be the cause of my problem, see my heat was cutting in and out for about a week, a light kick under the glove box was providing temporary support, but one day i smelt burring plastic, so i put my head under the glove box to inspect the problem and i saw flames shooting out of something down there, i turned my heat off so my truck didnt light up, and i havent had heat sense. any ideas?

1A Auto Parts: You may want to make sure that the correct fuse is in the slot on that circuit. Also check the plug end to see if the wires are burnt or melted, if they are then you should repair them. Hope this helps you out 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts: @reposado28 It could either be the blower motor resistor or maybe even a loose connection or wire somewhere. I would check to see if there's power to the blower motor and the resistor with a test light.

theknightlynews: I am replacing my 1975 mercedes 300D blower motor. In that car, Mercedes installed the blower motor first, and then built the car around it. The shop time to change that is about 12 hours. So I did the work myself and saved about $1500. Unfortunately, the motor is $500 and those blower motors were the bladed ones, not the squirrel cages and nobody makes those anymore so I can't use a generic motor from some American car. I'm so screwed. Got any ideas?

1A Auto Parts: If the blower motors is what's creating the noise, then it should solve the issue for you.

1A Auto Parts: @1ChevyGuy375 Yes they squeal when they are going or they get and obstruction.

1A Auto Parts: HI Corbett, You may want to check the connection going to the blower motor to see if it's loose, which might be causing this issue. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Jake Brandt: The connection between the two in the plug is burn on the thing metal sheets inside the plug. Should i buy a resistor and a new adapter or get all three. By the way sometimes but rarely the motor will blow and then after like 3 minutes it goes off and doesnt start up again.

crosstalk125: Great video. I have a 98 Chrysler concorde. The AC doesnt work in summer. But for winter the heating works great. I actually have to change actuator for heating to work again. Any guess on what is causing the AC not work. The air out of the fan is very hot in summer. Thanks in advance!!!

9632147miguel: my suburban doesnt blow cold air but doesnt have any leaks from the ac hoses and it has the cold air in the ac tank (i dont know what the air is called) but it was tested at a shop and its was good. could the problem be the ac blower motor?

1A Auto Parts: There could be several different things causing the air not to blow but one of them is the blower motor. Your best bet would be to check to see if you are getting power up to the electrical connection on the motor itself and then go from there.

Jake Brandt: I've replaced my blower motor resistor 2 times and have to again. Is it blowing because of the blower motor itself

Mike Copeland: How similar is this to a 96 Silverado?

bukaty1: My 99 Silverado fan motor was ROARING!. With the aid of this video I was able to remove it and clean out live oak leaves that were clogging the squirrel cage fan. When I put it all back together I left off the pia fan motor sound deadener cover and threw it away.

machster69: Great vid! Is it possible to change the bearing in the motor? Mine seems to be squealing on levels 1,2 and little on 3 but then stops. 99 silverado...
