Rock Shox Reba Rebuild

Did this video help you?

Surfmus: Another service. I do it yearly.´╗┐

Surfmus: Servicing for the third time. Last time was Oct. 2010, now Nov. 2011

Surfmus: @jmajak In the video it does not show pouring the 15wt/sae oil in the lowers before assemblying nor greasing the enduro´╗┐ seals. That is an important part when it comes to plush of the fork. (that is the original comment) Surfmus 2 years ago

Surfmus: The complete rebuild kit witout the enduro race sealer is $32. Do not throw your money on Sram oil, go to a motocross dealer and buy fork oil. Recon and most rock shox take SAE/wt 5 and 15. Buyer by liter and it's still cost $10 each. but this will last forever, and close to 5 to 6 services. actually one of the oil last way more since it takes 15cc and that is it, the other 115cc. I can't remember which one from top of my head.

Heartofdarkness0000: good job!!

Surfmus: @graftonreed all that done, video was too long, Ieven replaced the schrader valves. I just services with new enduro seals and the inner lowers bushing.

smallest grown up ever: how long did it take and did you use the tools made for them i hear you need them or it gets ruined

Surfmus: @hooverrepair I'm glad it did.

Surfmus: Do you have a video of the IRON?

smallest grown up ever: what was wrong with them

Surfmus: @reaperisgrim :-)

Surfmus: @TheRootsNote your welcome. On this video does not show the oil filling on the lowers prior to be assemble. Don't forget that step. I believe he proper wt/sae oil is written on the video description.

Radu Alexandru: What's the name of the song?

Surfmus: The only clip missing is the lubing of the lowers.

Spudly1234567: Would be nice to actually show us how its done

Surfmus: Domino Sugar. I couldn't get another non brand bowl. LOL

Surfmus: @jmajak yes, I made a comment the day I uploaded the video that I did but forgot to record that clip.

PRELUDEDRIVEN MTB: Nice! I have the Recon Race that I paid to have rebuilt for $40. How much do the seal kit and Sram oil cost?

YEKk11: i just bought a diamond back and the fork is on backwards. do i have to take the whole thing apart and reassemble it just to fix it ?

Surfmus: I changed the oild today. Wow, after one year of use.

graftonreed: Do you also do the damper and spring? 1. Gerneral Service Kit: include replaceable o-rings, retaining rings, crush washers, crush washer retainers, and shaft bolts/nuts. air service kits include schrader valve(s). Enduro kits work great. 2. Rebound Damper and Spring Shaft Kit: include crush washers, crush washer retainers and shaft bolts, as well as upper tube retaining rings and rebound adjuster knob.

Surfmus: I used hex wrench and regular tools. It does not get ruin as long you give the right torque. I used Rock Shox Rebuild kit though if that's what you meant.

hooverrepair: Excellent, thanks man, I need to rebuild mine now and this HELPS a lot

Surfmus: Nope. You just have to remove the stem and centralize it.

matt mcdowell: slow down man, it looks like you just rolled a bowl, lol.

Surfmus: In the video it does not show pouring the 15wt/sae oil in the lowers before assemblying nor greasing the enduro seals. That is an important part when it comes to plush of the fork.

vtsteevo1: Do you have a full length video somewhere?

Surfmus: regular services, oil was old.

Surfmus: The only clip missing is the lubing of the lowers.

Surfmus: @simonofthepiemans Karsk Kale, ONe Step Beyond-Realize. I have another video which I mix and edited this song. Came out awesome.

TheRootsNote: Great help....thanx

graftonreed: I have also found that generally, less air pressure is needed than what Rockshox recommends for a riders weight. Also, 10psi less in the negative chamber than the positive works best for me...right across the range of settings.

simonofthepiemans: Nice video Surfmus - Would love to know the name of the artist and song.

Mogo McG: hey, i have a pike 426, and i'm wondering what oil is best for them and how to get the old seals out of the lowers properly?

Surfmus: 2008 fork!!!

Surfmus: Not online. I may have it on MY old laptop.

Surfmus: @DirtJumperMogo get the right sae/wt for it. It should on the rock shox website. i believe is the same but the quantity increases since is more travel. Do not throw your money on FOX or rock shox oil product. Just go to a motocross/cycle shop. For both is around $20. which seals? The ones at the bottom inside part of the lowers or the top seals?
